NOBLE TITLES HELD
The Ward Baronetcy of Bixley in the County of Norfolk was created in the Baronetage of England on 19 December 1660 for Edward Ward, Sheriff of Norfolk. The title became extinct on the death of the eighth Baronet in circa 1770.
The Ward Baronetcy of Killagh in the County of Down was created in the Baronetage of Ireland in 1682 for Sir Robert Ward, Sheriff. The title became extinct on his death in 1691.
Bernard Ward (1719-1781) was an Irish politician who was elevated to the Peerage of Ireland as Baron Bangor of Castle Ward in 1770 and was further elevated to Viscount Bangor in 1781.
Humble Ward (c. 1614-1670), High Sheriff of Staffordshire, son of William Ward, London goldsmith, became Baron Ward in 1644. His son, Edward Ward (c. 1614-1670), 2nd Baron War, succeeded to his mother’s title in 1697 as 7th Baron Dudley.
