FIRST TIME in JAKARTA, Indonesia 🇮🇩 (We didn't expect this!)

Описание: This is our FIRST time in Indonesia, Jakarta! As we are from The Netherlands 🇳🇱, this city was so different than what we are used to. We had no idea what to expect, but this city completely surprised us.

We started our trip at Monas, the iconic national monument, before visiting Istiqlal Mosque, the largest mosque in Southeast Asia, and the beautiful Church of Our Lady of the Assumption right across from it. Then, we explored Grand Indonesia Mall, where we had our first taste of Bakmi GM.

Getting around Jakarta was difficult with the heavy traffic, so we also got to experience the MRT, which was super clean, modern. We took it over to Pacific Place Mall, where we finally tried Sushiro (we had way too much fun with the sushi conveyor belt!). And because no trip is complete without a little self-care, we even got a haircut in Jakarta.

For a taste of history, we explored Kota Tua, wandered through Taman Fatahillah, visited the Jakarta History Museum, and wrapped up the day at the charming Batavia Café. But the biggest food highlight? Trying Martabak for the first time! 🤤 The crispy-yet-gooey texture and rich toppings totally lived up to the hype!
