This video is aimed toward RISM's contributors who use the cataloging program Muscat.
This video will demonstrate how to make a music incipit (the first few bars of a piece) using Plaine & Easie Code for a RISM record. It covers:
Importance of music incipits (0:00)
First example: A single instrumental line (1:57)
Second example: A song with voice and piano (9:11)
Third example: A string quartet with multiple movements (11:49)
Other aspects: mensural notation, transposing instruments, other notational elements (12:42)
