Part 1 :-
Cooper ran away from his home at the age of 12 and was found by Andrew, a kid of his own age, who immediately brought him home to his parents the same day. Years later, they are best friends. Cooper’s household is facing the same issues that it faced years earlier, and Andrew, much more privileged than Cooper, often promises that he will grow up to become a cop just so that he can save Cooper from his abusive family.
Soon, Cooper realizes that he’s in love with Andrew–but he also comes to another realization: he cannot inform Andrew of the same in fear that he may lose him. Instead, he decides to seek a “safe place” in someone else, and it turns out to be a manipulative college student, Tate. Andrew does not support their relationship, and during one confrontation between the two best friends, Cooper confesses his feelings for Andrew. Andrew replies in kind, and the two start dating after Cooper breaks up with Tate. But something is not right about this relationship, and Cooper is about to face his biggest heartbreak.

Part 2 :-
Years later, Andrew is now a cop, and Cooper is still in the same family that he was. Andrew admits that he wants to see Cooper again after their fallout–but when he finally meets him in the situation that he does, he isn’t able to understand how to deal with so many emotions at the same time. But Cooper has always been forgiving, and Andrew is a little more in love than he was before. So as the court proceeds with Lara’s, Cooper’s mom, punishment, romance develops between the two. At some point, Cooper even accepts Andrew back into his life—something that Andrew considers important after everything. But Cooper is still with Tate, and Andrew realizes he has more than one thing to deal with. Cooper, on the other hand, realizes he has more than one monster to fight.
