The Individualized Education Program (IEP) and the 504 Plan are somewhat essential tools designed to support students with disabilities, but they work in different ways, especially for the Deaf.
An IEP provides specialized educational support and services tailored to meet the needs of students who qualify under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
In contrast, a 504 Plan provides accommodations to ensure equal access to education for students with disabilities, focusing on removing barriers to learning.
