The bigger engine is a 2.5 boxer 4

Here I’ve also been averaging 33 mpg
Epa says 29 combined


2:18 - Interior quality

And i know some of these things would be addressed with a higher trim package
But here we have just a smattering of blacks and grays


3:13 - Turn signal


And it’s the fact that the turn signal SAYS it has the thing where you press it half down and you get the three blinks
BUT I couldnt get it to work at all this week

3:40 - AWD

All crosstreks across the board come std with Subaru’s symmetrical AWD


4:13 - Safety

Another thing now coming standard on all crosstreks is Subaru’s eyesite

Which is why it’s on the good side of the video
The system is pretty good
It does have tendency to hug the right lane line in my experience


4:45 - Rear seats

But again, here at 6’1” I could sit back here
I would miss having rear air vents
But you do get chargers back here that are labelled with the amp output for some reason
You’ve got cloth seats but they’re comfy enough
And this guys has the sunroof which is part of that 2500$ package that includes some other items too


5:21 - Towing

This was something I was really impressed to see

This crosstrek has the small engine so it tops out at 1500 lbs towing
BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE
If you get the bigger 2.5L engine AND a transmission cooler supposedly your tow rating increases to 3500 lbs


6:17 - Offroadyness

From the jump you get the legendary AWD system
even this Premium trim gets X mode for more aggressive offroad traction
Yo’ve got more ground clearance than just about anyone else
AND if that wasnt enough there’s a wilderness trim
Which offers over a half inch lift, better tires, and some other stuff


6:46 - On-Roadyness

And on the pavement it’s pretty decent too


7:39 - Efficiency

The EPA rates this 2.0 engine at 29 mpg combined
BUT i’ve been getting 33 mpg all week


8:06 - Looks

I love the new grille with its Salvador Dali mustache
But then the whole ca is wrapped in black plastic cladding
And that’s got a diamond texture on it
You’ll remember the WRX had hexagons for its texture
You’ve also got weirdly aggressive aero in the wheel arches and on the rear
But i guess it looks cool
And also, you’ve got a gray sing mirror…for some reason


8:47 - Tech

You’ve got a massive 11.6 center infotainment screen
And as we know, bigger means better
So it doesn’t matter that it doesn’t have native nav here
And that you have to go into the screen to turn on auto climate
Or that the graphics still look a little like a PS2
THE SCREEEN IS BIG SO ALL IS FORGIVEN
Lol no but tbh it’s actually fairly nice
You get ACP And AA and they can even be wireless if you spend enough money
Same thing with a wireless charger
You get a TFT screen in your cluster where the car’s brake lights light up when you hit the brake pedal


9:35 - Price

As tested, this car is 29,700 and i really do feel like you’re getting a great amount of car here for under 30 grand
