Tim Barnes, together with his brother Richard, opened the driving range in the early 1990s. They established Hartford Golf Club – with its 9-hole, par-35 (2766 yard) golf course – in 2001.

Hartford GC presents a highly picturesque parkland course offering interesting topography – that varies in elevation, gradient, and slope.

There are two par-5s, four par-4s and three par-3s; ponds feature on 5 of the 9 holes – prominently on the 5th!

The elevated par-3 7th is Hartford's dramatic signature hole – and has been likened to the 6th ('Juniper') at the Augusta National Golf Club, USA.

In 2023 a new 18-hole adventure mini-course opened – 'Mad Hatter's Adventure Golf'.

The blues are the shortest of five sets of teeing options offered at Hartford – allowing players to choose the length, and challenge, of round they find most enjoyable.
