Du Bin, an independent documentary filmmaker in China and
a former photojournalist of New York Times, went missing.
On June 12 after ten days, Beijing police admitted for
the first time that Du Bin is in detention.
They said the case was handled
by the domestic security division.
According to Deutsche Welle, on June 12,
Beijing activist Hu Jia accompanied his sister
Du Jirong to Beijing Youanmen police station
to ask again for Du Bin's whereabouts.
Staff on duty admitted that Du Bin has been
under criminal detention.
It is handled by the domestic security division, and is
currently being held in Fengtai District Detention Center.
This is the first time Beijing police admitted Du's detention.
On June 13, Hu Jia again accompanied Du Jirong
to Fengtai Detention Center.
Five people from the domestic security
division followed them to the scene.
Personnel in the detention center said that Du Bin had been
under criminal detention since June 2, charged with affray.
The domestic security division told Du Jirong not to contact
Hu Jia or anyone once in Masanjia Women Forced Labor Camp.
Du Bin was secretly arrested and taken into custody on
May 31 by staff from the domestic security division.
His books and computers were also taken.
It is widely believed that Du Bin's arrest was down to
making a film to reflect tortures in the forced labor camp
called "Woman Over The Head of The Devil" and
for preparing the book Tiananmen Massacre. It is the authorities' retaliation.
Zhan Lin And Daughter Are Missing Again
Anhui dissident Zhang Lin and his daughter Anne
recently went missing again.
According to Radio Free Asia, Zhang's friends
Zhou Weilin called to see him on Wednesday.
The pone was turned off, and the home telephone
had no answer either.
Another friend of Zhang, Qin Yongmin,
the founder of China Democratic Party said
Zhang Lin suddenly missed, and it is difficult to
determine if he was taken away by government.
Zhang Lin's friends told Human Rights
Defenders website in China.
That cell phones of Zhang Lin and his daughter were
powered off at the same time,
is very similar to the last arrest in Hefei by the
domestic security division so they are worried for the safety of Zhang and his daughter.
In February 2013, 10-year-old Anne had been
in police custody, and was forced out of school.
Anne was named by the media as the youngest
prisoner of conscience in China.
Many Lands in China Had Buildings Secretly
In recent years, many high polluting, high energy-consuming
enterprises, located in big cities gradually moved out.
At the same time, many businesses originally on the east coast
moved inland, leaving many high priced, good locations.
These become the best opportunities of the Chinese
Communist Party (CCP) to make revenue by selling land.
The UK Guardian newspaper reported on June 6,
that experts estimate
there may be thousands of poison- contaminated land
in China which are being used to develop real estate.
This contaminated land can release toxins for dozens of years
or even centuries, bringing serious threats to residents' health.
Chinese officials deliberately concealed the information about
making revenue, and even blocked messages to the public,
so that residents living in these buildings had no knowledge
of the poison contamination at all.
