This is Pierce Ryan's FSU film school application. Our Vice principal at the time tasked us with making a video to all the freshman about what High School is about, what to expect, and the rules to follow. He told us this in late August (after school had already started) and gave just a few weeks to draft up a script and film and edit the entire video.
I wrote the entire script for the video and was in charge of getting the actors, equipment, and overall directing the video.
Although this doesn't illustrate my storytelling ability as well as some other things might have, this was a major accomplishment and biggest project as a filmmaker at the time. For context, after I finished the script and got the actors Tallahassee was hit by a hurricane which canceled school on days we were set to film. On top of that all of the actors backed out and we had to refilm everything. I know in the filming process there are going to be many obstacles and setbacks. I believe that my ability to push past those illustrates my dedication to not only my work but to film and my passion for it.
