An automated carousel storage system comprises bins or baskets suspended from an overhead chain conveyor, revolving around an elongated oval rail. The chain conveyor positions bins at a load/unload station. Typically, a human operator at the station activates the powered carousel to bring a specific bin to the loading/unloading point.
