The four bavot Niggun (Daled Bavos) is a remarkable melody composed by The Alter Rebbe, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, the first Chabad Rebbe. This melody (Niggun) has four stanzas, corresponding to the four spiritual worlds, Atzilut, Beriah, Yetzirah, and Asiyah. Each stanza is intended to elevate the singer and listener to the next spiritual realm. It is considered holly and due to that this special melody is sung only on special occasions.
I feel very connected to the Alter Rebbe and needless to say love this melody. Still, I wanted to create my own personal musical interpretation for it, so I have created and musically produced this contemporary version with a brilliant team of musicians who agreed to join this mystical journey.
This Niggun (song) has many names... it is also called "The Niggun of Four Stanzas" or "The Niggun of Daled Bavos" or "the Niggun of Four Gates". What ever the name is, PG one day we will be able to understand more about the Alter Rebbe's Niggun and its true spiritual powers.
