Описание: This 3rd volume of my "Golden Era Hip-Hop Radio" series is from the summer of 1989, and may be the best of all the tapes I have from that time. It's the first in the series that was recorded on a better radio, so the sound quality is improved over the 2 previous videos. Rap music was at the height of its Golden Era in summer 89, and there were a lot of good albums and songs in the genre at that time. While the majority of these songs were recorded from 88.5 FM WHPK, 3 of them (1987's "I Am Down" by Salt 'N Pepa, the Beastie Boys' new 1989 release "Hey Ladies", and Big Daddy Kane's then new single "Smooth Operator") were recorded from 107.5 WGCI; which was Chicago's number 1 radio station at the time. All in all this is a great snapshot of what was hot in hip-hop during the summer of '89. Enjoy-M Chapman
