Описание: This lecture by Dr. Ashish Mahabal from Caltech looks at asteroids beyond Neptune, and then the main belt asteroids, but really concentrates on Near Earth Asteroids. Students learn about surveys for asteroids and fast-moving asteroids that leave a streak rather than a point image in particular. The lecture also introduces machine learning techniques such as random forest and deep learning, and prepares student to perform detection and data analysis of asteroids in the Zwicky Transient Facility survey.
