The Vizhinjam International Seaport in Thiruvananthapuram celebrated a historic moment as it welcomed its first mothership, 'San Fernando'. Operated by Maersk, this semi-automated container transshipment port is set to fully launch by September. With an initial investment of ₹8,800 crore, including ₹3,600 crore from Adani Group, it aims to handle over 5 million TEUs by 2028. Located strategically near international shipping routes, Vizhinjam promises to transform maritime logistics in India.
