Koh Chang Island - which means "Elephant" in Thai - is the second largest island in Thailand after Phuket. It is located approximately 400 kilometers southeast of Bangkok in Trat province, near the border with Cambodia.
Previously, Koh Chang was known as a resort where wealthy Thai residents mainly vacationed, who found tranquility, comfort and the opportunity to relax peacefully from the bustle of the city. Nowadays, Koh Chang is becoming increasingly popular among foreign visitors who prefer the privacy of a pristine tropical location to the noise and fun of traditional Thai resorts.
