This Abandoned Train Bridge Has A New Life

It's not often that abandoned, decayed and forgotten about structures get a second life and in this case, we can say that it's happening. An old train bridge that was once used by the Erie/Erie Lackawanna Railroad has sat abandoned for decades. Although it makes for a great piece to see in person, it served no real purpose anymore. That was until the same interstate bridges that wiped out the town of Greenville, now require repairs and the best way to cross the river with equipment is to re-purpose this old train bridge. They put down new decking and inspected it and it's now used almost daily for construction crews. The great news is that once the bridge work is completed, the plans are to keep the old train bridge open for a section of rails to trails.
