A McLaren F1 is being auctioned today, August 16, 2025, at the RM Sotheby's Monterey event. The car, chassis number 062, is one of only seven F1s originally delivered to the United States and was first owned by Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison. With fewer than 6,500 miles on the odometer, it is in exceptional condition.
The F1 has a number of factory upgrades from McLaren Special Operations (MSO), including an improved air conditioning system, upgraded radiators, and a custom sports exhaust. It also received a full mechanical refresh in late 2023. This vehicle is expected to sell for more than $23 million and could set a new record for the most expensive McLaren F1 ever sold at auction. Bidding for this car closes today at 3:30 p.m. PDT.
