This is a lovely walkabout around the outside of Lacocok Abbey , seeing the Clloisters & the Abbey Gardens in the Spring time .
Lacock Abbey was built between 1229-1232 & remained an Abbey till the Disolution of the Monasteries in the 1500’s & then became a family residence.
In the early 1800’s Lacock Abbey was brought by the Talbot Family & in 1835 a man called
Wiillliam Henry Fox Talbot invented the Negative which produced the Photograph , so arguably the Photograph was invented in Lacock Abbey , however there is a French man
who also claims to have invented Photography.
We do NOT go inside the Abbey itself but we do walk you in & around the Cloisters part of the Abbey & we walk you around the Gardens in Spring, seeing late Winter flowers like Snowdrops, Crouses & some other beautiful late winter flowers & you will get to see some of the beautiful Wiltshire countryside aswell .
As we walk around the Gardens you will hear lots of birds singing/chirping happily away.
After walking around the Gardens, we walk you around the Court yard of the Abbey with some beautiful Architecture .
The Cloisters is beautiful to look at & films like Harry Potter was filmed at Lacock Abbey
