The Push Up is notorious for being the most common exercise in and out of the gym, but it's also almost ALWAYS done incorrectly. Clients either let their hips sag or wing their elbows wide causing discomfort and poor performance.
But the push up is key to teaching full body integrity while also training the upper pressing muscles such as the chest, shoulders and triceps. So, you absolutely must figure out how to teach it effectively.
In this video, coaches Joe Drake and David Crump from the Axiom Fitness Academy, cover the major coaching points of the push up and establish some standards of what to look for. You'll also learn the key check points for the arms, hips, and foot position!
