Comparison between the Ionic or Electrovalent Compunds on the basis of Bonds or State in which they occurs
Electrovalent compounds exists as crystalline hard solids at room temperature. Electrovalent or Ionic Compounds are formed between the ions (charged atoms are called ions) positive (cation) or negative (anion). The forces between these ions are called electrostatic forces of attraction and are very strong due to which they held the ionic compounds tightly forming hard solids at room temperature.
On the other hands Covalent compounds exists in all the three states of matter solids (soft solids), liquids and gases at room temperature. Covalent compounds are formed between the atoms of the elements in which they have weak Van der waal's forces of attraction namely Cohesive forces (which exist b/w same particles) and Adhesive forces (which exits between different particles). If the molecules are less they exists in gaseous states and if the molecules are more they can exits in liquids or soft solids states.
