The success of the Ossus Project inspired the selection of one hundred planets for similar terraforming efforts. However, the One Sith, under the leadership of Darth Krayt, sabotaged the project. By misattributing the sabotage to the Yuuzhan Vong, many worlds became angry with the Jedi and withdrew from the Galactic Alliance. Meanwhile, the Empire, which had maintained neutrality with the former Rebellion since 19 ABY, saw an opportunity, and the ruling Moff Council declared war on the fractured Galactic Alliance.
