Описание: In this video, we continue our journey through Marvel Sagas: The Official History of the Marvel Universe with Issue #5, marking my coverage of 5 out of the 25 total issues in this ambitious series that chronologically retells Marvel Comics history. This chapter is packed with massive turning points, iconic origins, and classic Silver Age chaos that helped define the Marvel Universe as we know it today.
We kick things off with the fallout from Doctor Doom’s terrifying plan to launch the Fantastic Four into the sun using their own building, showcasing Doom at his most ruthless and cementing his place as one of Marvel’s greatest villains. From there, we explore the origin of Warren Worthington III, Angel of the X-Men, diving into his tragic realization of mutation and what it means to be different in a world that fears it.
The story then shifts to the gamma-fueled madness surrounding the Hulk, as General Thunderbolt Ross attempts to shoot the Hulk into space, only for radiation to trigger a shocking twist—Rick Jones gains control over the Hulk, changing their dynamic forever. We’re also introduced to one of Marvel’s more eccentric villains as the Ringmaster of Crime makes his debut, adding mind control and spectacle to Marvel’s growing rogues gallery.
On the cosmic and mythological side, we get the origin of Loki, his deep jealousy of Thor, and his early attempt to claim Mjolnir for himself, reinforcing the eternal rivalry between the brothers of Asgard. Meanwhile, Ant-Man briefly clashes with Comrade X, showing Hank Pym still finding his footing as a hero.
The Fantastic Four return when Kurrgo of Planet X manipulates them into stopping a world-ending meteor, blending sci-fi tragedy with heroism. We also see Johnny Storm step out on his own, battling the Destroyer, only to be framed by the Wizard, proving how fragile public trust can be. Finally, we close with the origin of Bobby Drake, Iceman, completing another foundational X-Men story.
