Описание: The Woerlitz Park, also known as the Woerlitz Gardens, is an English-style landscape garden located in Woerlitz, Wittenberg district, Germany.
Covering an area of 112.5 hectares, it was created from 1769 onwards under the reign of Prince Leopold III Friedrich Franz of Anhalt-Dessau, primarily in the second half of the 18th century.
The park, which receives over a million visitors annually, is situated on the Woerlitz Lake and borders the town of Woerlitz.
It belongs to the Garden Dreams Saxony-Anhalt network and the Dessau-Woerlitz Garden Realm, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Established between 1769-1773 and expanded until 1813, the Woerlitz Park is considered one of the first and largest German landscape parks modeled after English examples.
The park served an educational purpose, encompassing architecture, garden art, and agriculture.
The prince's goals in designing the park were to educate his subjects, place humans at the center, and provide practical benefits beyond mere aesthetic appeal.
The well-preserved park complex, including the palace, was designated as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000.
