In a series combination, components are connected one after another in a single path.
1. Same current flows through all components.
2. Voltage divides across each component.
3. If one component fails, the whole circuit stops working.
Example: Old decorative lights – if one bulb fuses, all bulbs go off.
In a parallel combination, components are connected in separate branches.
1. Same voltage across each branch.
2. Current divides in different branches.
3. If one component fails, others still work.
Example: Our home wiring system.
