Luckily we were able to witness the first mature tree felling under Plymouth City Council's hugely unpopular Armada Way redevelopment/defacing project where over 130 beautiful and well-established trees are for the chop. They conducted this first felling at night - a testament to how deeply disliked their vanity project is. We were given the weakest of justifications for this environmental barbarity, destroying the existing urban forest, the green lungs of our city.
