Here’s a tip for passing servo cables through tight spaces.

Most hobby servos are wired to a cable that terminates into one of these 3-pin connectors.

They’re great, but if you ever want to pass this cable through something, you’d think you’d need to make a hole for the cable as wide as this connector.

But here’s a trick. If you shove the pins forward a bit and use a small precision flathead screwdriver to carefully lift the little retaining clips just a bit, you can slide the crimped connections out of the housing.

Once you have it like this, you can thread the wires through and then seat the crimped ends back into the connector.
