In this video we ride from Lake Locarno to Como, before catching a train to our first checkpoint destination of the trip: Venice. Over the course of six days, we cycle up a valley to the idyllic mountain village of Foroglio, leave Switzerland behind and cross into Italy, continue through Porlezza with a hiking detour to a hidden waterfall, and finally ride via Menaggio to reach Como. As beginners learning on the road, we take plenty of wrong turns and discover the hard way — more than once — that Google Maps isn’t always your friend on a bike tour.
We’re two Kiwis on a human-powered, budget cycling adventure across Europe. This is Part 2 of our trip — full of detours, adventures, and lessons learned on the road.
