On 7th June 2025 I visited the British Normandy Memorial site at Ver-sur-Mer on the Normandy coast in France. This site was recently created and jointly inaugurated by Prime Minister Theresa May of the UK and President Emmanuel Macron of France on 6th June 2019. At that time the site wasn't completed, one reason being under-estimation of the time taken to engrave 1,746 names on the stonework. The site finally opened to the public on 6th June 2021.
The day of my visit, 7th June 2025, was grey and windswept with the odd shower. This adds to the sombre atmosphere. I have made this film without narrative, so you are free to your own thoughts. You can read their own website here:- https://www.britishnormandymemorial.org
