With only 554 Aptera Accelerator Program slots available and $22.15 million raised towards Aptera's production as I release this video in early October 2023, it is looking like the Accelerator Program will end and Aptera will enter production in early 2024.

What most people don't realize though, is that with about 45,000 pre-orders placed as of today, anyone who hasn't placed a pre-order yet will probably be waiting at least a couple of years to get their Aptera if they reserve their Aptera today. But there is a little-known shortcut to this wait time, and it doesn't involve investing a minimum of $10 thousand in the Aptera Accelerator Program.

What a lot of people don't realize, and I didn't realize this myself till another YouTuber pointed this out in one of their videos, is that anyone can reserve a Launch Edition Aptera just by selecting that option in the Aptera website configurator.

But there's a catch. Unlike the first 2000 Launch Edition reservations which are published on the Aptera Accelerator Program Leaderboard, nobody knows how many of the remaining 3000 Launch Edition reservations have been pre-sold, and we probably won't know for a few months, as it is possible for any one of the existing 45,000 reservation holders to change their reservation to or from the Launch Edition, any time between now and when production starts.

My recommendation to anyone who wants to take delivery of a brand new Aptera ASAP is to make a Launch Edition reservation now, and don't change it, because if you reserve any other Aptera version, you will go a lot further down the queue, depending on which version you order. That way you can have your reservation locked in, probably towards the end of the list of 5000 Aptera Launch Editions which we have been told will be available. Don't forget, Aptera Motors have said that initial production will be only 40 vehicles per day, which means 200 vehicles in a typical working week, or less than 1000 per month. Do the math, and you will figure out that this means only 12,000 vehicles a year at most, leaving most Aptera reservation holders waiting in line for at least a couple of years until Aptera either builds a second factory, or additional production lines in the existing factory. All of that depends on additional fundraising, so it's a big gamble to take at this point in time.
