Iran protests: When will Tehran listen? | Conflict Zone

Описание: Iran has been gripped by weeks of demonstrations and violent crackdowns sparked by the death of 22-year-old Iranian-Kurdish woman Jina Mahsa Amini while in police custody.

Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of people around the world, from Tokyo to Berlin to Vancouver, have rallied in recent weeks in solidarity with the country’s protest movement.

But is Iran’s hardline government listening?

DW Conflict Zone host Tim Sebastian spoke this week to Mohammad Marandi, professor at Tehran University and political analyst, who blamed the West for aggravating the situation.

Sebastian also spoke to Marandi about the stalled nuclear deal with Iran, as well as reports of Iranian drones being used by Russia in its war with Ukraine.
