How very odd to be here again, she thought, taking a seat at the wide, polished oak desk after being left alone to wait. Not much about the room had changed since her last visit. The grandeur of the place was ever-palpable; tapestries and portraits lined the walls, and ink pots and swirling bottles of soulthreads filled the gaps between ancient-looking tomes on the bookshelves.

She had often thought of returning. She certainly owed at least that much to Danyel. But every time her thoughts went down that route, another man’s face would flash through her mind's eye, his golden gaze haunted and vacant.

It was easier not to think about it, to forget for the moment. It was easier to lose herself in quest after endless quest. Fighting monsters was simple; it was in her blood. Besides, Falconreach needed her.

You didn't keep your promise.

DeathKnave's throat constricted. And now she was finally here—not with an apology or explanation, but with a request. It was selfish, and the shame of it made her sick to her stomach. She was supposed to be a hero, yet all she was doing was taking from others. The door creaked behind her.

“Please excuse me for making you wait, I was just—” DeathKnave shot to her feet as Danyel stepped into the room, his voice trailing off as his gaze settled on her. “Oh.”

Ok so this was supposed to be a usual meme Youtube fanfic but it accidentally turned serious so I stopped writing it. Maybe I'll continue it or maybe ‪@sienrid‬ can finish it because he never delivered on his promise to write me a Danyel fic!!!
