Captain Vijayakanth died on December 28 at a private hospital in Chennai. His body is being kept at the DMDK (Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam) office in Chennai for the public to pay homage. On the night of December 28, Thalapathy Vijay visited his party office to pay tribute to Vijayakanth. For the unaware, Vijayakanth acted with Vijay in his second film and gave him the much-needed success in his formative years.
