I cut 1 repeat off the bottom to shorten them, & increased the needle size by .25mm, as despite what the pattern says, I find they come out quite tight! With the Christmas-coloured pair, I also altered the thumb, as the pattern uses a very unusual method. It’s a clever technique, but doesn’t widen the glove for your hand, making it tight across the palm. This time I tried doing a standard thumb instead, with M1L & M1R increases, leaving 2 purl stitches between my thumb & the cabling – I used the ‘Palm Reader’ gloves pattern from the wonderful Vampire Knits book (highly recommend if you’re a Twilight/vampire fan!) as a basic template for the increases, then popped the thumb on scrap yarn, and finished it at the end with some ribbing. Any fairly plain glove pattern with a thumb should be useable for thumb methodologies, though. If that’s a nuisance, however, you could try doing the Evenstar pattern’s thumb technique, & just sizing up the needles one more increment for a looser palm area?

Using a 6mm hook, & the ‘wrapping the yarn the other way for an X-stitch’ technique. I’m using my own granny square pattern, with all hdc stitches, figuring a bulky stitch will also help the stuffing stay put! The stuffing I’m using is black, so it’s less obvious than white would be.
