The issue is one that anyone who plays Peter & Sons regularly will already know. You can feel the math. Dead spin four times in a row and you know a win is coming. The mechanics are strong enough that when the anticipation should be building naturally, it doesn't because you can almost predict the rhythm. That kills it for me. The script feeling becomes more obvious the better the mechanics are, and Roadquake has good mechanics, which makes it worse.

Potential is there. The hotspot system when it gets going is genuinely exciting. But I can't rate a game highly when I can feel it playing me instead of the other way around.
