Christkindlmarkt 2021! My First Time Visiting Cincinnati's German Christmas Market!

Описание: Discover Christkindlmarkt with me! According to the Germania Society, Christkindlmarkt is Cincinnati’s oldest and most authentic German Christmas market. The market has been hosted by the Germania Society since 1998.

Patterned on traditional Christmas markets which are a yearly tradition throughout Germany. Cincinnati’s version of Christkindlmarkt takes place under a twinkle light strewn covered pavilion and heated tents, as well as outdoors in beautiful Germania Park.

We sample some German bier (or beer) in the biergarten. The Christkindlmarkt also serves Glühwein, which is a hot mulled wine. The main attraction are the unique gifts from Germany and from local craftsmen.

We peruse the market and browse imported German beer (bier) steins, cuckoo clocks, nutcrackers, hand blown glass ornaments, candle arches called “Schwibbogen” and “pyramid” candle holders with carousels that rotate when the candles are lit.

The food looked great, but the lines were too long this year. Food choices includes homemade cabbage rolls, mock turtle soup, pastries and candy.

My favorite part was the lantern parade and seeing Santa Claus,Mrs. Claus, the Christkind, St. Nikolaus, and Krampus, not to mention the petting zoo and horse drawn wagon rides.
