Описание: We got the chance to sit down with Morgan and her friend and bandmate Kaylyn Legare, on Morgan's family ranch in southern Alberta. Morgan had this to say about the song she performed:

I cried every second when I wrote that song because I thought every cow on this place was going to town from the drought being so bad for so long. Absolutely heart wrenching to grapple with selling three generations of family cows. Not even a week later it suddenly poured six inches on this place and turned everything around. I had nothing to do with it raining, but it made me wonder if I shouldn’t have sat down to write that song sooner

Morgan had this to say about her upbringing and connection to the ranch:

My connection to ranching is bridged by my connection to the land itself. We’re living and working alongside a rangeland ecosystem that’s 10,000 years old. I was brought up the same way my dad was, and his dad; take care of the land, and the land will take care of you. You have to leave it as good or maybe even better than you found it. It’s an optimistic mentality for a corner of the world that gets so little moisture to revive what’s taken from it annually. But if you make natural range health a priority; you can get by through even the worst of times. The history, the spiritual connections we feel to this place, and every adventure, hardship, and joyful moment we’ve felt here, is all something worth writing about. I’ve chose to share those stories through song - the same way my dad did. I work on the ranch alongside my entire immediate family, while doing what I can to perform wherever I can with their support. The community around us places a great deal of value in music and stories of our history. I was lucky enough to grow up in a corner of the world that still had little dancehalls with country bands, rodeo dances, and most importantly, many campfires and shop parties to trade songs around. I fell in love with music not just right here on the ranch, but in the hardgrass country that I come from, and through the people who scratch their living in it alongside us as ranchers, farmers, and cowboys
