Safe and Secure - Beatrice's Story

After starting the program in 2006 with just a small group of children, we began to realize the great need for education and Biblical discipleship in our local community. More and more children were added, and now, almost 20 years later, we are seeing adults who have graduated through the Child Sponsorship Program who are living as ambassadors for Christ in their communities. Beatrice is the current Head Teacher of the Village of Eden Primary School. While she loves working with the teachers and students, her heart is for high school education. Soon, with the opening of the Village of Eden Christian Secondary School, she will step into a new role as Head Teacher there! Beatrice has been a faithful teacher, patiently waiting for the day the high school would open at the Village of Eden.

Beatrice was connect to Moyo Missions in 2010, shortly after the death of her mother. Unfortunately, her story is not unique. Her father desired to provide her with an education but struggled to work due to an illness. Education is not free in Uganda, and many families cannot provide for basic necessities in life, much less education fees. Soon after Beatrice entered her second year of high school, her grandmother began to care for her because her father passed away. As an orphan, Child Sponsorship provided a way for Beatrice not only to attend school and learn about the Lord, but also provided safety and security when she was vulnerable. Beatrice is a wonderful example to our students at the Village of Eden. She has seen the Lord’s faithfulness in her life first-hand, and she continues to share about His love in our community. We know she will lead our High School well and honor the Lord as she steps into her role as Head Teacher!
