Dimensions and units are commonly confused concept in Engineering.
Dimension:
Dimension is a measure of a physical variable (without numerical values).
Simply any physical entity that can be measured (e.g.: distance or length, mass, temperature, pressure, etc.).
In chemical engineering, dimensions are the fundamental concepts of measurements and used in day to day activity to design equipments, operation, improve products etc.
Unit:
Unit is a way to assign a number or measurement to that dimension.
Unit Definites quantitative magnitude of a dimension.
