Only ₹148 crore worth of notes have been returned in the last two months, indicating that many people are still holding onto these notes. According to the RBI, 98.41% of the notes, which were withdrawn from circulation on May 19, 2023, have been returned so far, but notes worth ₹5,669 crore are still in circulation.
