Join Mayor Rex Richardson and other City of Long Beach leaders as they celebrate the grand opening of the Youth Shelter and Navigation Center, the City’s first permanent shelter facility for youth ages 18-24 experiencing homelessness. The facility includes 12 beds, restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, a kitchenette, a pet relief area and a lounge area.
Renovations on the 5,400-square-foot center began in January 2024 in response to the City’s homelessness emergency, turning a vacant building into a safe, welcoming space with a fully remodeled interior, upgraded amenities and improved exterior features. The center will be a vital resource for people experiencing homelessness and will also offer comprehensive social service support and onsite case management.
