Описание: How to Hide and Lock Columns in Excel
In this intermediate excel tutorial I’ll explain how you can quickly hide confidential data in excel. We are going to hide data from an entire column and then lock the worksheet so that no one can see or edit that column. This is not a typical approach where you select the cell and hide it. If you follow the traditional way to hide columns in excel everybody will know that you have hidden a column. But here we’ll not hide the column, instead we’ll hide the data from entire column and then lock it. So that know one will even know that there were data, making it safe and secure.
Now I’m sure you know a lot about locking cells in excel. Let’s follow the procedure below to learn how to lock and hide columns in Excel.

Step 1: Select the entire column that you need to hide and lock
Step 2: Right-click and click on format cells.
Step 3: Click on Custom and now remove General and write three semicolons. ;;;
Step 4: Click on and done. Cell values are now partially hidden
Step 5: Select the entire worksheet by pressing CTRL+A.
Step 6: Right-click and select format cell.
Step 7: Select protection and make sure locked and Hidden checkboxes are unmarked.
Step 8: Select the Cell or Range of the cells that you need to hide and lock.
Step 9: Right-click and click on format cells.
Step 10: Select protection and make sure locked and Hidden checkboxes are marked.
Step 11: Click on the review tab and click on Protect Sheet
Step 12: Enter Password twice and done

Now your selected column is hidden and locked.
