Gladden House Sessions 2018 II The Weather Station

Описание: Toronto-based folk group The Weather Station made their Gladden House debut on the second day of the 2018 Nelsonville Music Festival.

The light summer rain dissipated just in time for their set while scores of fans eagerly awaited an intimate set from this beloved band. Formed in 2006 with rotating membership, the band’s current lineup includes Tamara Lindeman, Ben Whiteley, and Will Kidman. When asked about the group’s 2017 self-titled Paradise of Bachelors release, Lindeman spoke fondly of the work, referring to it as her “watershed album.” It’s been a breakthrough year for the band on the heels of this latest release.

The band started their set with two stripped down renditions of cuts from the aforementioned self-titled release, “Free” and “You & I (on the Other Side of the World).” The Weather Station’s Gladden House performance marks the first time the band has performed any of the songs from the set in an entirely acoustic live setting. The group closed their Gladden House performance with “Floodplain,” a melancholic and confessional number from 2015’s "Loyalty" (Paradise of Bachelors) that contrasts the swollen Canadian rivers of spring with a sense of fundamental uncertainty.
