Have been wondering what to do on the weekend? Delhi has something new to offer. The SARAS Food Festival is already open at Sunder Nursery, transforming the heritage park into a vibrant celebration of India’s culinary and cultural diversity. Set against Mughal-era architecture and winter gardens, the festival is all about bringing together authentic flavours from more than 25 states, prepared by SHG didis who carry generations of traditional recipes and craftsmanship.
Visitors can expect a cross-country food trail in one place, from the flavours of the Northeast and the coastal dishes of Kerala to Rajasthan’s royal fare and Bengal’s classic sweets. Each stall is run by women from Self Help Groups, highlighting regional cooking techniques and the broader initiative of supporting livelihoods and the journey of creating Lakhpati Didis.
Beyond food, the festival will feature live cultural performances and regional showcases, adding colour and energy to the sprawling grounds. The atmosphere is designed to mirror the diversity of rural India, with music, art, and local products creating a lively, immersive experience.
