In this video we take a look at a super easy to setup portable work station. Yes, nowadays we can work from a laptop or even a tablet. Making it super easy to work from anywhere, however, if you spend a large amount of time working like this or maybe your work is just a little too demanding for a small laptop screen, then hopefully this video will help you.

We travel full time, either around Europe in our camper van or backpacking as a family all over the world. But as a family of four, to make things a little more comfortable we tend to stay in each place for at least a month. This gives us time to settle and have a little bit of a routine but still allows us to explore and see so much of what the world has to offer. We work while we go, and as soon as we arrive at a new place, I like to set my work space up. And for me I like to have a space that is comfortable and also a clear dedicated work space. So for me the M4 Mac Mini is the perfect travel companion, this budget friendly device allows me to easily pack it into my bag and quickly set it up wherever we go with a proper keyboard, mouse and monitor, creating a perfect desk everywhere we travel.

And this was my first reason for looking at good 4K portable monitors. But once I got one, I kept finding new ways to use it until I came across something that I have not seen anyone else do before, and I think it is pretty cool.

Using an iPad I can connect the 4K 18" portable monitor and have a 2 screen portable setup. On the iPad I can connect back to my Mac mini, either from another room or location in the house or even from a cafe or co-working space. giving me both MacOS and iPadOS in a quick and easy to setup work space that I think hands down beats a simple laptop or even laptop and external monitor setup.

My top 3 reasons for using a setup like this...
1. With a cellular iPad you can take this setup anywhere you like (you can also you a hotspot or go anywhere with wifi or even utilize Starlink..
2. You have a true desktop experience, a comfortable keyboard, mouse and much larger screen than any MacBook.
3. As your Mac mini is safely running back home or at your airbnb etc... It can be connected with fast internet, external storage and more, meaning you are not limited to your physical location or the internal storage of your laptop/tablet.
