CHANEL and Shaq met on a night out and hit it off straight away. They quickly started dating, and fresh in love, Chanel admits that she didn’t pick up that Shaq was telling her about being out on bail, with the possibility of going to prison. This was until the time came in April 2025, when he did indeed go to prison. Chanel explained that it "wasn't really discussed between us. When he had to go, it was very surprising for me. It was sad, even though I knew it was going to happen." The pair now plan to get legally married while he's still in prison, but then have a big celebration with loved ones once he's out. "He never officially proposed", she said. "We kind of just had the idea that we wanted to get married and then do everything when he's out. He did give me [a] promise ring, symbolising that we eventually will get married." Since Shaq went away, Chanel has been questioned about why she remains committed to him. "The judgment that I get based on my relationship would be [that] people just don't understand why I would stay with him while he's incarcerated. I have had people like tell me that I shouldn't wait and that I should move on."
