Today we’re finishing the book of Book of Joshua by reading chapters 21 through 24. These chapters bring the conquest of the Promised Land to a close and remind us just how faithful God has been to His people.
In Joshua 21, we see the Levites receive their cities, and we’re told something incredible — not a single promise God made failed.
Joshua 22 shows how quickly misunderstanding can lead to conflict, but also how honest conversation can preserve unity.
In Joshua 23, Joshua gives his final warning, reminding Israel to stay faithful and not drift toward compromise.
Then in Joshua 24, the people gather at Shechem to renew their covenant with God, where Joshua makes that famous declaration: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
This reading is a powerful reminder that God always keeps His promises, but each generation still has to choose obedience and faithfulness for themselves.
