An ice 'volcano' is visible in the Almaty region, four hours away from the Kazakh capital city. The unusual natural event appears every winter with the arrival of cold weather. The reason for the formation of the 'volcano' comes from underground water springs when the temperature is below zero degrees Celsius (32 degrees Fahrenheit). The ice then freezes in the form of a volcano, as seen in the footage filmed on Monday. The height of the phenomenon can reportedly reach as high as 14 metres (46 feet). Both tourists and locals flock to see the 'volcano' and to share their spectacular photos online.
