1995: Pelé Inspiring the Next Generation in Soweto, South Africa

Описание: Legend of football Pelé has been lying in state in the Vila Belmiro Stadium in Santos, Brazil, since his passing on 29 December 2022. Today his coffin will be carried in a funeral procession through the streets of Santos to his final resting place. In March 1995, ITN's cameras followed Pelé – widely considered to be the greatest player of all time – as he visited a children's football club in Soweto, South Africa. The icon took photos with the children and offered them advice, including listening to their coach and staying in shape. His visit to the club took place during the State Visit of Queen Elizabeth II to South Africa, and to President Nelson Mandela's adoptive hometown of Soweto.
