Water chestnut is an aquatic invasive plant that plagues lakes and rivers throughout the Lower Hudson Valley. While it is considered a Tier 3 (established) species in the Lower Hudson PRISM, eradication of smaller populations is possible, especially when lakes have lower connectivity to other infestations and/or additional prevention measures are taken to reduce re-introduction.
