York's Famous Panto ran for over 40 years in the city, starring Berwick Kaler, Martin Barrass, Suzy Cooper, A.J Powell and David Leonard. The panto received acclaim throughout that whole time along with Berwick receiving countless accolades and awards for heading up the show as writer, director and dame. Unfortunately the show ended 2 years ago, and for the first time since, the cast are looking back and reflecting on their time in York.
I grew up on the York Theatre Royal panto, I truly idolize all of these people so it was a joy to bring them together to talk about this show that is so dear to me and countless other families from York. This has been such a passion project for me, I've had no funding, no fancy tech, it's all been done by me. I want to make it clear this is not affiliated in anyway with any external company, this is a personal passion project.
This is for everyone who loved this panto as much as I did. For 40 minutes I hope you can reflect on all the amazing times we had in that theatre and all be Babbies & Bairns once again.
